Auditing Information Technology General Controls General controls (GC) are the umbrella under which the Information Technology (IT) functions operate. They affect the organization's entire processing environment. In this webinar we will discuss the categories of ITGC: systems development, change management, program and data security, and computer operations as well as how to audit the general controls. We will also discuss the common challenges and deficiencies identified in ITGC audits. Upon completion of this program participants will be able to: 1. Speaker: Sudeshna Aich, Senior Auditor - Information Technology, Florida State University - Office of Inspector General Services As the Senior IT Auditor at the Office of Inspector General Services at the Florida State University (FSU), Sudeshna Aich is responsible for Information Technology (IT) services and related activities with an emphasis on the security of IT resources for maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of resources. Her duties include management consulting, investigations, IT audits, policy development, planning, purchasing and contractual advisory, and IGS technology project development. Prior to joining FSU in October 2018, Sudeshna worked as Senior IT Auditor for the State of Florida Office of Auditor General for more than four years and was responsible for auditing IT controls for the educational entities within the State of Florida. She also worked for the Florida Department of Transportation - Office of Inspector General Services as IT Auditor. Before switching her career to IT Auditing in 2013, Sudeshna had gained more than 15 years of professional experience in Information Technology project management and information security software design and development. She holds a degree in Master of Business Administration, in Finance, from FSU and is a Certified Information Systems Auditor.
