| All internal audit departments need to maintain a quality assurance and improvement program (QAIP) that evaluates conformance with the current International Professional Practices Framework: the Definition of Internal Auditing, the Code of Ethics, and the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (Standards). The QAIP includes ongoing monitoring, periodic self-assessments, and external quality assessment reviews (QAR). ACUA has released a new kick starter and templates to assist you and your team with measuring your department against the Standards and identifying areas of improvement that will also help prepare for your next QAR.
