In 2022, the ACUA Sideline Committee introduced you to the athletics business model and NCAA conference structure. In 2023, we shared tips for identifying financial and operational risks through partnering with your athletics department. Now, we invite you to join us for a deeper look into areas that are significant to athletics departments, including electronic ticket operations, development and gifts, and human resources/payroll operations.
Like the old saying goes, you need to make money to spend money. As the cost of coaches’ salaries and student-athlete services soar, ticket sales and donations (often the largest sources of athletics revenue) are under pressure to increase as well. Staff and administration workforces are growing and can swell, shrink or turn over quickly as athletics departments try to maneuver through uncertain regulatory waters. This webinar will provide some common risks and controls in these areas for you to help your athletics department make sure those controls are working properly and in turn strengthen your relationship with your athletics department.
