Melissa B. Hall, CPA, CFE

Melissa Hall is the Associate Director of Forensic Audits at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where she deals extensively with investigations of fraud, waste, and abuse in the Institute. She is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Fraud Examiner. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Clayton State University. Melissa has nearly two decades experience in both internal and external audit.
Her prior experience as an audit manager with a regional accounting firm, and as the Chief Financial Officer of a K‐12 education institution, has provided her with a unique perspective and insight on fraud investigations in Higher Education. The varied background of operations and external audit provides unique insight when investigating allegations of financial misconduct on Campus. Her people skills are an asset when working with both internal and external legal counsel, prosecutors, and other law enforcement agencies.
Melissa is very active within the ACUA community and enjoys every minute of volunteering whether it was in her prior role with the Best Practices Committee, submitting articles for the ACUA Journal, being an ACUA Faculty member, speaking at annual conferences, proctoring, track coordinating, working on host committees, helping on the awareness task force, or simply attending events. The return on investment is multiplied exponentially every time.
