Audit Interactive Cancelled amid COVID-19 Concerns

In light of the mounting concerns regarding public safety due to COVID-19 - as well as the demands our members are facing in their own institutions and communities and related travel restrictions we've been notified about - the ACUA Board has come to the difficult decision that we must cancel the 2020 Audit Interactive conference scheduled for April 5-8, 2020 in Nashville, TN.

We need to be supportive of our Universities' Presidents, Boards, and Administration during these difficult times. The ACUA Board of Directors agrees the support and focus on the overall safety of our students and staff at our Universities is top priority at this time.

Central to the ACUA experience is our camaraderie and open sharing of knowledge.  We embody Community. In these difficult days, I trust that we each rise to this challenge, collaborate more and reach out a helping hand where needed.

While we cannot come together in-person for Audit Interactive, we have a team of volunteers working hard on offering a virtual learning event in the coming months.  Stay tuned to emails and social media channels for additional details regarding registration and costs as they become available.

Next steps for registered attendees:

  • You will need to contact airlines to cancel your airfare.
  • You will need to contact the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel by phone at 615-320-1700 to cancel your sleeping room.

We appreciate your patience and will work as quickly as possible to issue complete refunds in the manner that the funds were received within the next 4-6 weeks.

Again, thank you for continued support for ACUA. Please reach out if there are ways you see the Association can assist you in these challenging days.

Much thanks for your support,

Julia Hann

ACUA President

Audit Interactive, A Higher Education Collaborative Experience, is a new learning environment where you will take a deeper dive into current audit topics, collaborate with other auditors to share varied professional experiences, and apply new knowledge immediately to implement solutions and new processes in your daily audit practice.  Don't miss this innovative educational opportunity coming in April 2020.

Audit Interactive 2020 provides an educational program that is relevant to a broad spectrum of auditors. You will find educational content for all levels of audit professionals including:
  •  CAE/Audit Director Roundtable
  •  Multiple Audit 101 modules for new auditors and auditors new to higher education
  •  Basic, Intermediate and Advanced courses on a variety of hot topics

Auditors will learn in a collaborative setting that goes beyond the didactic lecture style and implements more audience-engaging teaching elements.  Audit Interactive employs an educational expectation model where each content module is divided into the following three teaching outcomes, and speaker selection is driven by the depth of expertise in a topic.

Learn – Speakers teach a principle or topic
Apply – Speakers provide details on how to execute the topic
Collaborate – Attendees spend time working together on a learning exercise or event
Audit Interactive offers the following features and benefits to attendees:
  • Attendees can freely select the session within each given time slot that best meets their experience level and continuing education needs.
  • Tailored to address hot topics in higher education today and in high demand by ACUA members, offering 2 or 4-hour deep-dive modules.
  • Network with other auditors within the classroom setting while actively sharing problem-solving, case study experiences in expert-led discussions.
  • Attendees leave the conference with actionable takeaways (tools, reference materials, sample audit plans) that they can implement immediately at their institution.
